Troyer Farms

The boys had a field trip on Wed to Troyer Farms. It was very neat. We got to watch a short video about Troyer Farms and how they make their products. Then we got a tour of the plant.....sort of. We were up in an observation deck, behind glass. It was very cool to see how they were made. As we pulled up to the building, they had a semi tipped up in the air. That's how they unload their potatoes. I wish i had pointed it out to the boys, but I didn't. They saw it in the video, but it would have been nice for them to see it IRL.

We all got a small bag of potato chips and a small bag of the cheese curls when we were done. They are so good!

I learned a lot about Troyer farms. I had no idea they are the only potato chip factory that grows their own potatoes. And they don't use Idaho potatoes, they use Pennsylvania potatoes. All in all, it was very informative. I really enjoyed it and I think the boys did, too!

They need to change the Sour Cream and Onion chips back to the rippled style. Those were so good - the new ones are blah.

Hi Trisha

I remember going on the "Troyer Farm Field Trip" when I was a young lad and that was quite a long time ago...:)
